Artiste Boigraphy

Gospel Recording Artiste, Finalist in the 2008 JCDC Gospel Song Competition, Songwriter, Worshipper, that's who Deneese Wright is and so much more. "Den Den", as she's affectionately called, is the youngest of three children born to Evelyn and David Wright. Her parents were devoted members and leaders of the Holiness Christian Church which formed the bedrock of her spiritual upbringing. It was evident that the hand of God weighed heavily on her life from the tender age of five where she was asked to sing in church and other audiences.

Deneese gives many thanks to her sister Ann, as she was instrumental in her development as a singer. Ann would put her on a chair or table and say "come Den sing this song, after three...1,2,3" and Deneese would willingly follow Ann's hand movements, she herself was marvelled at how well Deneese would effortlessly switch between parts from soprano to tenor as instructed; at that tender age.

At age twelve, she accepted Jesus Christ into her life, from thereon things were never the same. In that same year Deneese was invited to minister at a function at the Kirkvine Sports Ground, where during her ministry of the song "I came on business for the King" people were being "slain" in the Holy Spirit, they were being delivered, so much was happening even Deneese herself didn't fully understand at the time.

She was told by church leaders who were present at this event that "God would use her mightily for his Kingdom". After leaving high school, Deneese walked away from the Lord, doing all she wasn't allowed under the protective eyes of her parents, and being one of the lead vocalists in a local reggae band, all felt good ... but only for a while.

Tragedy struck! It was out of pain and disappointment due to her mother's illness that Deneese sought the Lord again, and found strength and healing. This was a pivotal period where she recognized and understood that there was a greater calling and purpose for her life, and that her vocal gifts and talents were to be used to glorify God through music. This led to her rededicating her life to Christ in 2002 where she became a member of The Fellowship Tabernacle Church, pastored by Rev. Doctor Merrick Al Miller. There she served in the church choir, the drama and the praise and worship ministries.

Deneese is a Christian who believes that the Joy of the Lord brings strength. Her music reflects her personal experiences, relationships with people and her relationship with God. Her music is unique just as her personality is. She is an original member and was the lead singer in "Voices" (a gospel group). She is also a member of the Perpetual Praise group lead Nadine Blair. Deneese says that her backbone support, encouragers and biggest cheerleaders are her close friends Meigon, Natalie and Sister Ann, as well as Mark Bennett, who played a major role in moulding her spiritually and musically, helping her to hone her craft.

It was her entry song "NO COMDEMNATION" that was selected to give her a place in the 2008 JCDC Gospel Song Competition where was selected among the top ten. Since then she released another singles including the "I BELONG TO YOU" and "DI SOLUTION".

Now a minister of the gospel of Christ through song and music, Deneese's main focus is to win souls for God and to be used by him. Her life is a testimony of God's faithfulness.
